KLGA 92.7 FM and the Thursday afternoon Schaeffer Oil Hour of Horsepower packed up and headed south to the 16th annual Harris Clash at the historic Knoxville Raceway July 19th.
In this rebroadcast of the Hour of Horsepower, we first talked with race promoter Bob Harris about this year's event and what has made this perhaps the top (or very near the top) IMCA modified race in the nation.
After speaking with Harris, we spoke eventual race winner and Algona Raceway regular Clayton Christensen from Spencer. He talks about why Knoxville is so special to him and his family. He was so eager to race at Knoxville early in his career...he raced his B-Mod against the IMCA modifieds...just to say he raced there.
Next we caught up with Ames driver Pat Graham. He talks about running with both the USMTS and running regulary with his IMCA modified.
To conclude the program, we spoke with Algona Raceway and Hancock County Speedway regulars Jeff Nielsen of Pocahontas (fresh of his first career win in the IMCA mods) and Dakota City's Jeff Feaster. Feaster talks about how Kelly Shryock has influenced his career.
Thanks to all who helped make this broadcast awesome, including the drivers, Bob Harris and Knoxville Raceway!!
